SyncML Setup for BlackBerry Devices
MDaemon's webmail client, WorldClient, includes a SyncML compliant server that can be used to synchronize your calendar, contacts, and tasks with any SyncML compatible mobile device. The following instructions will take you step-by-step through the setup process on the MDaemon Mail Server and on the BlackBerry® device using the free Funambol® SyncML client.
MDaemon SyncML Setup
SyncML must be enabled in MDaemon in order to use the SyncML synchronization capabilities.
Step 1
Select Setup | Web, Sync, & IM Services.
Step 2
Select SyncML in the left-hand navigation menu.
Step 3
Verify that "Enable SyncML server" is checked.
If you would like to only enable SyncML for a specific domain, then you can select that domain in the "Select Domain" drop-down menu.
Step 4
Click "Ok" to finish.
BlackBerry SyncML Setup Using Funambol
Download the installer using the web browser on your BlackBerry device.
Step 1
Select the Download button to begin the download.
Step 2
Select "Ok" to continue.
Step 3
Navigate to the folder containing the Funambol application.
In most cases, it will be located in the Downloads folder.
Step 4
Select the Funambol application.
Step 5
You will see the Funambol menu.
Step 6
Select the Menu button, and then choose "Settings."
Step 7
In the "Server Location" field, enter the address you use to access WorldClient, followed by /MDSyncML.dll.
For example: http://mail.domain.com:3000/MDSyncML.dll
Step 8
Enter your full email address in the "Username" field, and then enter your password in the "Password" field.
Step 9
Scroll down and enter the path to the Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks folders on the MDaemon server.
By default, they will be:
- Contacts: ./contacts
- Calendar: ./calendar
- Tasks: ./tasks
Step 10
Select the Menu button, then select "Save."

Select the Menu button, and then select "Sync All."

While synchronization is in progress, you will see this screen.
Step 13
When synchronization is complete, you will then be able to view your calendar events, contacts, and tasks on your BlackBerry device.
